Chris Miyake became the second manager in Rox history when he was promoted to the post in October 2005. Miyake led Brockton in 2006 to the league championship series. He spent the previous three seasons as the club’s hitting coach.
A shortstop at the University of California at San Diego, Chris was one of the top hitters in school history. He compiled a .365 career batting average and broke the single-season record for triples in a season with 12 three-baggers.
The Southern California native was drafted in the 22nd round in 1995 by the Pittsburgh Pirates and advanced as high as AA Carolina in 1998. He spent the next three seasons playing independent ball, for Adirondack, Albany and New Jersey.
Miyake’s coaching career began in 2002, when he became hitting coach for the Adirondack Lumberjacks of the Northern League. |
