Dave LaPoint is in his second year as the leader of the Boulders.
LaPoint, 53, was a 10th round pick of the Milwaukee Brewers in the 1977 Major League Baseball amateur entry draft and the New York Yankees Opening Day pitcher in 1990 against the Cleveland Indians. LaPoint appeared in 294 games over his 12-year major league career and won a World Series ring with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1982. He had an overall record of 80-86 record and a career ERA of 4.02.
The Glen Falls, NY native will be entering his eighth season as a field manager. He began his managerial career with the Adirondack Lumberjacks (Northeast League) in 1995 and 1996. He led the Lumberjacks to the first-ever league championship that first season. In 2006, he managed the Bridgeport Bluefish (Atlantic League) to a 75-49 record and was named Manager of the Year. LaPoint also managed the Long Island Ducks (Atlantic League) for three seasons (2007, 2008, and 2010).
