North Shore RHP among League Leaders in Wins, Strikeouts and ERA
DURHAM, NC -- North Shore Spirit RHP Chris Farley (pictured) had his contract sold to the New Yankees as announced by the Can-Am League today. Farley is the fifth Can-Am player purchased by a major league organization since the beginning of the 2007 season.
Farley had a record of 8-2 with an earned run average of 1.41 in 10 starts with the Spirit. He struck out 71 batters and allowed only 15 walks in 63 2/3 innings pitched. Opponents were only batting .212 against him. Farley was among the league leaders in wins (1st), complete games (1st), strikeouts (2nd) and ERA (3rd). The 24-year-old was also a Player of the Week selection the week of June 11-17.
The Orange, MA resident was a 14th round selection of the Boston Red Sox in the 2001 draft. He spent four years in the Red Sox organization playing for the Red Sox GCL, Lowell and Augusta.
